Hans J. Wegner, JH701 Armchairs, set of six, 1965
The JH701 armchair was designed by Danish master Hans J. Wegner in 1965 and produced by Johannes Hansen. Its steel frame supports a hand-carved wenge backrest inlaid with maple, showcasing refined craftsmanship. The seat, newly upholstered in natural leather, balances tactile warmth with lasting comfort. Originally created for Wegner’s wife and two daughters, the chairs were used in the family’s own dining room, carrying deep personal significance for the designer.
